South Africa's Information Regulator says it is investigating a ransomware-related data breach at vehicle-tracking company Cartrack after the company made a preliminary notification. Cartrack says its customer database was accessed in the August incident, including contact details, bank-account information and vehicle data. Dire Wolf claimed on its leak site that it exfiltrated 500 gigabytes from Cartrack servers. The regulator said it is reviewing the notification and remains in contact with the company.
