&Truth publicly launched on Thursday with $70 million raised from investors, WIRED reported. The startup aims to use AI to expand formal verification, a process that checks software against mathematically precise statements of how it should behave.

Research by Chuyue Sun, who joined &Truth in August, used AI to verify part of Signal's encryption code. She reported completing the project in less than half a day for under $500, compared with five months for three experts working manually. The technology remains at the prototyping stage, and verification depends on assumptions that may miss user errors or hardware failures.
