pgEdge makes Starfleet database platform available with cloud and local deployment options

pgEdge says its Starfleet Postgres database platform is available now, starting with a 14-day trial and paid instances from $25 a month. The service lets developers create a hosted database and connect AI coding tools through a server that exposes database functions to those tools. It also supports separate database branches for development and testing. For production use, pgEdge says customers can run its Postgres software in its cloud, their own cloud or on premises, including isolated environments. Those local deployments use pgEdge Enterprise Postgres. The company claims the platform can scale from one instance to clusters across multiple regions; those capacity claims come from pgEdge.
