CedarDB announced limited availability of CedarDB Cloud on Wednesday at TechCrunch Disrupt, following beta testing with users from its waitlist. The Munich startup's database handles both transaction records and analytical queries, bringing its existing technology to a fully managed, cloud-hosted service.

CedarDB previously offered on-premise Enterprise software and a free Community Edition. Its PostgreSQL compatibility lets customers use familiar database tools; CEO Moritz Sichert says it reduces the need to rebuild applications when switching.

The startup plans to serve its first cloud users with its current team of 14 people. Access to the new service remains limited.
