Researchers report that TSFLab, a workbench for coding agents conducting time series forecasting research, improved task completion by 20-163% and reduced fresh tokens per completed task by 11-66% across baselines in reproduction and benchmarking experiments.

The workbench gives compatible agents shared resources and tools for research and ongoing maintenance. It addresses the work of implementing papers and maintaining released code under consistent experimental settings.

A pilot study of agents developing new forecasting methods also reported improved forecasting accuracy, with 32.8-73.6% fewer fresh tokens and 9.2-68.8% less development time than the other settings. Those method-development findings come from a pilot study.
