# Amazon EVS enters FedRAMP Class C scope across U.S. regions

Amazon Elastic VMware Service is now in scope for FedRAMP Class C, formerly the Moderate baseline, in every AWS region in the United States. The change extends the federal security-assessment framework's scope to a service that runs VMware Cloud Foundation inside a customer's Amazon Virtual Private Cloud on EC2 bare-metal instances.

AWS says customers can establish a VMware environment within hours to migrate workloads from aging data centers. Being in FedRAMP scope identifies the applicable assessment and monitoring framework; the announcement does not describe a separate agency procurement or workload migration.
