# Expanding Daybreak as the Cyber Defense Window Narrows

OpenAI announced on August 10, 2026 the expansion of its Daybreak program with two access tiers and the release of GPT-5.6-Cyber, a model trained to improve performance on specialized cybersecurity tasks.

Daybreak Blue provides access to GPT-5.6 Sol with tailored safeguards for defensive security work such as vulnerability discovery and incident response. Daybreak Red provides access to GPT-5.6-Cyber for authorized vulnerability research, exploit validation, and security testing. GPT-5.6-Cyber completes 95.0% of advanced cybersecurity requests in internal evaluations, compared to 1.5% for GPT-5.6 Sol and 2.0% for GPT-5.6 Sol with Daybreak Blue access.
