DeepSeek released V4.1-Flash-1017 on Saturday across its website, app and developer platform, Bloomberg reported. The company says the update completes tasks faster, produces shorter outputs and improves reasoning, coding, tasks performed by AI agents and visual benchmarks.

DeepSeek describes the release as a minor update to V4.1-Flash, with improvements in uses including game creation and 3D modeling. On Humanity's Last Exam, which tests models on questions in mathematics, science and humanities, the company reported scores of 36.8 to 42.6, compared with 36.8 to 39.1 for its predecessor.

The release follows an outage earlier in the week that left DeepSeek's servers unreachable for about five hours.
