Indiana Michigan Power has proposed cutting Indiana residential electric bills by about $59 million by 2027 and freezing rates for three years. The utility says revenue from load growth and large customers, including data centers, would let it recover grid-upgrade investments faster. The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission is considering the plan; a decision is expected by June 2027, with savings projected for that summer. The company estimates about $100 annually for a household using roughly 1,000 kWh a month.
