IBM says it linked two cryogenic modules for quantum-system scaling
Image: Primary IBM says it connected two modular cryogenic systems at its Yorktown Heights research facility and cooled the combined environment below 15 millikelvin. The company says each new module provides up to 12 times the wiring space of cryogenic environments used by its most widely deployed quantum systems. IBM plans to use L-couplers to connect processors within and across the modules as part of its planned scalable quantum architecture.
