Cloudflare says OAuth optional scopes are available for MCP servers
Image: Primary Cloudflare said OAuth for MCP servers now supports optional scopes, letting users choose the permissions they approve during consent. The company said an application receives only the permissions approved by the user, rather than requiring broad access. The change is aimed at MCP-server builders whose agents may otherwise need extensive permissions. Cloudflare presented the capability as an OAuth feature; the post did not specify which MCP servers, identity providers, or deployment plans are covered.
