Sol has emerged from stealth with $4 million in funding led by General Catalyst and Nexus Venture Partners. DeVC, Peercheque and Kunal Shah also participated. The startup plans to spend the money on research and development and bringing its product to market.

Sol is building an assistant that finds commitments in emails and works on related tasks, including research, documents, presentations and meeting scheduling. It uses a dedicated computer environment and a browser to work across tools. Users must approve anything before it is sent, scheduled or shared, limiting the assistant's ability to complete those actions on its own.
