Comcast launched Xfinity Shield, a home-protection platform that includes an opt-in WiFi Motion feature using an Xfinity Gateway and connected devices to detect motion from changes in radio-frequency signals. The feature sends app notifications about unexpected activity and does not record video, capture images or identify individuals, according to the report. WiFi Motion is available on specified Xfinity gateway models. Comcast may disclose generated information to third parties in certain legal or law-enforcement circumstances.
