Paris-based CarbonFarm has closed an oversubscribed €7 million Series A led by Colam Impact to expand its rice decarbonisation business. Existing investors Serena & make sense, through Racine², and Technmind renewed their support alongside other participants. CarbonFarm uses AI analysis of satellite imagery, field-data collection and greenhouse-gas modelling to track farming practices and quantify emissions at field level. It operates in 19 countries. The funding will support expansion across Asia, Africa and Europe, a push into Latin America, and technology and expertise for developing, financing and certifying rice projects. The company says improved water management can cut emissions by as much as 50% and water use by up to 30% without affecting yields.
