OpenAI representative Thibault Sottiaux said image generation through ChatGPT and other services exceeded 4 billion images per week, up approximately 33% from over 3 billion eight weeks earlier, note reported. Official documentation puts the scope across ChatGPT, Codex and the API.

Sottiaux also cited Images 2.6 updates including GIF generation and saved reference images in ChatGPT, plus separate API models for speed and quality. The faster model can generate images in as little as 6 seconds at low-quality settings.
