Researchers report in a preprint that InterMimicGen expands executable humanoid motion data through repeated simulation tests and demonstrates transfer to real robots. A single tracking policy handles varied whole-body movements and dexterous interactions with objects.

The framework converts captured human-object interactions into robot motion references while preserving body coordination and hand-object relationships. It then makes small changes to interaction locations and body movements, adjusts the tracking policy, and retains only variants that complete the task in simulation. Successful variants seed subsequent rounds, expanding coverage beyond the original demonstrations. The augmentation process selects motions through simulated task completion.
