PitPro Automation said it has installed its first automatic tire-changing system at a Kal Tire shop in Calgary, Alberta. The startup says the system can swap a set of four tires in under 15 minutes, moving a machine it first revealed last year into a working tire shop.

Two robots use sensors and arms to find and loosen lug nuts, remove wheels, and fit replacement or rotated tires. The system is designed for existing maintenance bays that mechanics can also use for other work. PitPro said the shop environment required it to account for dust, debris, and weather that could affect the sensors.
