Meta says it is updating its AI-powered smart glasses so their cameras stop recording if a wearer covers the front-facing capture LED during a recording. The change closes a workaround that let users begin recording and then obscure the blinking light intended to alert bystanders. Meta had previously disabled cameras when the light was physically tampered with. The company is also running an awareness campaign about the indicator light in communities where its glasses have sold well.
