Temple, the health-tech venture founded by Deepinder Goyal, acquired UK-based longevity-medicine practice Longevous as it prepares to launch a wearable device.

Longevous will continue operating within Temple, while its founders, Dr. Robert Mohr and Dr. Avi Roy, will join the company full time as chief medical officer and head of science. Temple says its device is intended to collect physiological signals from the head and produce a continuously updated "Entropy" measure of real-time metabolic cost.

The company says that metric remains subject to scientific validation.
