European Commission proposes age limits for social media

European Commission proposes age limits for social media Image: Primary
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced plans for an EU Kids Act that would restrict social-media access for children under 13 across member states. Under the proposal, users aged 13 to 15 could access limited, parent-supervised accounts for one hour daily, while platforms would face safe-design obligations for users up to 18. The Commission is due to unveil the act fully Thursday, and legal experts expect the EU legislative process could run until 2029.
