Apple is experimenting with a software development process that gives engineers 50% more time to code and explore while reducing time spent on integration, 9to5Mac reported, citing Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The experiment comes as coding agents have improved.

New CEO John Ternus has also pressed software chief Craig Federighi to accelerate Apple's software roadmap and move beyond necessary Siri improvements. Federighi reportedly plans over a 12-18 month horizon, compared with the years-long roadmaps used in hardware engineering. The development process remains an experiment.
