Nvidia's revised DLSS 5 model cuts memory use, company says

GeForce RTX 5090 Image: Primary
Nvidia's revised DLSS 5 neural rendering model uses 20% less video memory at 4K and processes its neural rendering workload up to 2x faster, the company says. Tom's Hardware reports that the new build was released in NBA 2K27 and extracted by modders for use in unsupported games. The model is 24% smaller. The release retains the old model as Preset A and adds the new one as Preset B, enabling comparisons. Modders also adapted the runtime for RTX 20-series cards, but that support is unofficial.
