The Reserve Bank of New Zealand registered Revolut Bank New Zealand as the country's 27th bank, clearing a regulatory step for the fintech to expand its financial services. Revolut plans to introduce interest-paying savings accounts and a broader range of credit products.

The company has operated in New Zealand since July 2023 and applied for registration in late 2024. Its approval comes under current banking legislation, which the Deposit Takers Act is due to replace on 1 December 2028. New Zealand's banking market is dominated by four Australian banking groups.
