# Shopify brings Tailwind Labs into its organization

Tailwind Labs says it is joining Shopify, placing the Tailwind CSS framework and its maintainers inside the commerce platform. The company says Tailwind CSS will remain MIT-licensed and that its team will continue maintaining its open-source projects. Existing Tailwind Plus and ui.sh customers will retain access, but new commercial sign-ups are closing as the team shifts its focus to Tailwind CSS work at Shopify. Tailwind says the framework is installed more than 110 million times weekly.
