Anthropic appointed Robert Mahari as head of Claude for Legal, the company said Thursday. Mahari, founder of custom-build legal software developer Akiva AI, announced the appointment in a LinkedIn post. Anthropic has not yet responded to Law.com's request for comment on the matter.

Mahari said he plans to inform legal professionals about Anthropic's AI technology in the new role. His appointment follows Anthropic's steady launch of legal tech capabilities and integrations within its Claude large language model this year.

Other AI developers and platforms have also started leaning into legal tech as Anthropic bolsters its Claude legal technology and team.
