SpaceX said it intends to invest up to $100 billion in a Louisiana coastal facility for Starship factories and launch pads, Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry announced Tuesday. SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell said the proposed Starbase Louisiana site would include propellant production, power generation, deep-water shipping, vehicle processing and an airport. The company says it needs additional launch sites to support plans for thousands of Starship launches a year, including for orbital data centers. Its Texas and Florida locations face land or range-access constraints, the report says.
