Bank of America warns against giving AI agents account passwords

Stop sharing your passwords with AI agents, Bank of America warns customers Image: Primary
Bank of America has emailed customers urging them to stop sharing banking passwords with AI agents, ZDNET reported. The warning comes as major banks restrict third-party agents' access to financial accounts. JPMorgan has already blocked Muse and Instinct from accessing bank accounts. Citi, Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo are also restricting third-party AI agent access. Such agents can act across apps and services to make purchases and complete tasks, creating risks if they make financial decisions or expose account information. Bank of America's email advises customers against sharing credentials; the report does not establish an equivalent block by that bank.
