# Mistral opens Large 4 preview API ahead of model-weight release

Mistral says it has opened a public preview API for Mistral Large 4 on Mistral Studio. The model processes images and text, has 1 trillion parameters with 49 billion active parameters, and targets coding, tool-using workflows and professional tasks including cybersecurity, finance and law.

Mistral says the preview runs on the European infrastructure used to train the model with 3,800 NVIDIA Grace Blackwell GPUs. Model weights are due by the end of the month. Before that release, vetted partners and state authorities will test a version with reduced moderation and expanded cybersecurity capabilities.
