# Ai2 releases ToyBlocks tools for generating and testing robot training data

Ai2 has released ToyBlocks, an open simulation framework that automatically generates robot demonstrations and tests how training choices affect performance. The release includes simulation assets, task generators, training and evaluation code, two trained models, and 85,336 long-horizon demonstrations.

The framework sequences robot skills to manipulate tabletop blocks, generating hundreds of plans in parallel on a single GPU at up to 24 times real-time speed, Ai2 says. It also tested models trained exclusively in simulation on a physical robot. Its combined planning and control system succeeded in 50.0% of real-world episodes (15/30), compared with 55.5% in simulation (111/200); further trials are needed to establish statistical confidence across tasks.
