Bengaluru startup Pranos Fusion reported producing plasma in its experimental PRAGYA tokamak, moving the machine from design and engineering into experimental reactor operations. The company began building PRAGYA in June 2025 as a testbed for hardware, plasma-control systems and operating knowledge for more advanced machines. It is developing reactor-design and control software, tokamak hardware and high-temperature superconducting magnets. The milestone follows a $6.8 million funding round and the company's target of first plasma during 2026.
