Anthropic reported elevated errors affecting requests to Claude Mythos 5, Fable 5, Opus 5 and Opus 4.8 beginning at 05:06 UTC on Aug. 24. The company said the incident also affected claude.ai, the Claude API, Claude Code and Claude Cowork. At 05:27 UTC, Anthropic said it had identified the cause and was working on a fix; its latest cited update said work to resolve the issue was continuing. The company had not provided a recovery time or technical explanation.
