Korean IC designer DeepX has raised a $30 million Series D at a valuation of $2.2 billion, Electronics Weekly reported. Investors were existing backers BNW Investment and DS Asset Management.

The company says it wants to raise more money to take funding to $200 million and valuation to $2.45 billion. DeepX targets low-power AI chips for camera modules, robots, drones, surveillance systems, and edge servers rather than datacentres.

It sampled its first chip in 2024, a 5nm DX-M1 fabbed by Samsung that went into mass production last year. In April, DeepX said it had won more than 30 mass-production contracts from customers across eight countries. The chips are distributed by, among others, Digi-key.
