AWS released a plugin that exports the step-by-step execution history of Lambda durable functions, allowing customers to retain records beyond the standard retention period. A companion Model Context Protocol server lets AI agents query exported records through natural-language requests.

The exporter supports 13 built-in destinations and captures execution status, operation timing, step inputs and outputs, and errors. Customers can redact sensitive fields and sample records to control volume. It supports TypeScript, Python, Java and Go, and is available at no additional charge wherever Lambda durable functions are supported.
