AMD, OpenAI and Google are pledging AI tools and compute credits for the federal Genesis Mission alongside Nvidia and Anthropic, The Next Web reported. AMD's commitment is $500M, OpenAI's is $200M and Google's is $150M.

The pledges accompany a Thursday White House science summit. Nvidia's previously announced $1B share spans five years and includes university research, quantum computing and cloud providers serving government; Anthropic's share is $150M.

The commitments offer research resources rather than cash alone. How computing capacity will be reserved for scientists remains unclear, while the companies also sell machine time to commercial customers.
