Nvidia unveils hardware watchdog design for AI agents
Image: Primary Nvidia has unveiled an agent safety platform that pairs its existing OpenShell software with Sentry, a new hardware watchdog design, The Decoder reported.
OpenShell restricts which files, programs, networks and credentials an AI agent may use. Sentry is designed to run separately on Nvidia's BlueField-4 data processing units and isolate an agent if it attempts to cross those boundaries. The company says the watchdog could isolate an agent within milliseconds.
Sentry is a reference design, however, and Nvidia has not given a general availability date or figures showing how reliably it detects escapes.
