Korea University researchers developed a measurement schedule that reduces active locations in magic-state cultivation by 26.6% compared with independent repetition methods, Quantum Zeitgeist reports. Cultivation prepares quantum states for computation by repeatedly measuring their properties and rejecting inconsistent results.

The method organizes measurement records as a binary linear code, reducing the measurements needed for two states from eight and twelve to six and seven, respectively. Simulations also showed higher acceptance rates for valid outcomes.

The gains apply to a specific configuration using CZZ gates and a Steane code. The assessment covers record compression and does not yet account for architecture-specific circuit distance or connections to auxiliary qubits.
