NASA's 35th SpaceX commercial resupply mission launched at 6:33 a.m. EDT Tuesday, carrying more than 6,300 pounds of supplies and hardware to the International Space Station. The Dragon spacecraft carries the final pair of roll-out solar arrays intended to complete the station's power system augmentation.

The arrays will increase electricity available for research, operations and controlled deorbit. Dragon is scheduled to dock on Oct. 15, with astronauts installing the arrays during spacewalks planned for later this fall. Other cargo includes artificial-retina manufacturing hardware and 3D heart tissue models for drug testing.
