Google Threat Intelligence Group recorded 141 distinct vulnerabilities that were both disclosed and exploited from January through August 2026, exceeding the 127 it recorded for all of 2025. Its average monthly count of exploited vulnerabilities rose from 10.5 in 2025 to 18 during the 2026 study period.

Google found that only 0.23% of vulnerabilities disclosed in 2026 were observed in active exploitation. It also cautioned that automated assignment practices can inflate disclosure totals and that public records do not consistently identify vulnerabilities discovered with AI.
