Linux kernel 7.2 has been released with cache-aware scheduling intended to place tasks sharing data in the same last-level-cache domain, reducing cache bouncing and misses. The release sets guardrails to limit cache-domain overload and targets multithreaded servers, AI and machine-learning workloads, and some games.
