UK data regulator secures changes from ten AI developers

UK data regulator secures changes from ten AI developers Image: Primary
The UK's Information Commissioner's Office said ten AI developers have made or committed to changes in their handling of personal data after regulatory scrutiny, The Next Web reported. The companies include Amazon, Anthropic, Apple, Cohere, DeepSeek, Google, Meta, Microsoft, OpenAI and Stability AI. Changes cover clearer explanations of data use, stronger ways to exercise data rights and tougher checks on safeguards. The regulator is monitoring delivery and has opened a six-week call for evidence on AI agents, with responses due by 20 November. That evidence will inform guidance and a statutory code on AI and automated decision-making. The ICO says current training practices still create compliance difficulties.
