Google introduced Gemini 3.8 Live and Gemini 3.8 Live Extended Thinking for real-time audio dialogue and voice-agent use. The models are available to developers through the Gemini API and Google AI Studio, according to heise.de. Google said the base model accepts text, image, audio and video inputs and supports asynchronous function calls; the Extended Thinking variant is aimed at multi-step tasks. Product rollout is gradual, with some enterprise access described as preview.
