FTC Seeks Public Comment on Policy Statement Addressing AI Accuracy
WASHINGTON The Federal Trade Commission said it is seeking public comment on a proposed policy statement addressing concerns that AI companies may be manipulating the behavior of their AI systems contrary to reasonable consumer expectations for objectivity and accuracy.
The proposed policy statement will be published in the Federal Register, according to the agency. The public will have until July 31, 2026, to submit comments on the policy statement at Regulations.gov under docket FTC-2026-0859. Once processed, comments will be posted on Regulations.gov.
