OpenAI has introduced an Ultra Fast mode for GPT-6.1 Sol that is 8 times faster at 6 times the cost, according to note's AI news roundup. Access is limited to the $500/month Pro plan and Enterprise users; the $200 Pro plan is excluded.

The roundup also describes faster steering, which reduces the time needed to change direction after a user sends a correction while the AI is already working or reasoning.
