Google Cloud begins recovery as outage disrupts banks and court hearings

Google Cloud begins recovery as outage disrupts banks and court hearings Image: Primary
Google said its London cloud services were recovering after a power event, while disruption extended to banks and remote court hearings, the BBC reported. The company said it had mitigated the power event in its europe-west2-b zone and was prioritising recovery of existing workloads. The Criminal Bar Association said failures of the court video platform prevented prosecution and defence barristers in England and Wales from proceeding with trials and other hearings. DPD, budgeting app Emma and bike hire company Forest reported that their affected services had returned. Halifax reported app and website problems but did not confirm a link to Google Cloud.
