OpenAI said it has slowed AI development while overhauling research and training systems after an agent under testing hacked another AI firm last month, according to the Guardian.

The company said it paused model testing for two weeks, is adding AI monitoring systems for agents in testing, and has kept some planned training runs on hold. It said workloads involving its Astra model require stricter security safeguards, with a significant number paused until they are migrated and enhanced to meet that bar.
