Developers report that Anthropic's Claude Code and Opus 5.5 are refusing some game development and reverse-engineering tasks, Tom's Hardware reports. Complaints on Claude Code's GitHub include work interrupted halfway through development, reproducing a game mechanic and patching a tabletop-like game.

Other users report refusals involving anti-cheat development and security reviews of their own games. Anthropic has issued no official statement on these reports. A purported rule against recreating specific existing games remains unconfirmed, and a connection to its cybersecurity access restrictions is uncertain.
