Anthropic released details of its Model Hardware Standard, a framework setting rules for how AI agents should interact with equipment including microscopes, liquid-handling systems, quantum hardware, manufacturing machines and robot arms. The company says it is working with manufacturers and will use trusted partners to assess safety before making the standard generally available. Anthropic says the framework can let scientists and engineers specify limits on hardware use, while reducing the bespoke code needed to coordinate multiple robotic systems.
