Anthropic's Australian subsidiary has signed lease documentation with a consortium including Australian Data Centres for the first stage of a proposed hyperscale data center campus in Queensland's Western Downs, DCD reported. Dexus disclosed the agreement in its September quarterly update; it remains subject to customary approvals, including Dexus Board approval.

Dexus holds an 85 percent interest in Australian Data Centres. Chief executive Ross Du Vernet said the business has launched a fundraising process to bring in additional capital, with Dexus yet to determine its participation. Further project details are due at financial close.
