# Nvidia introduces agent safety platform with hardware monitoring option

Nvidia has introduced an open platform for controlling autonomous AI agents, combining its OpenShell runtime with an optional monitoring layer on BlueField hardware. OpenShell runs each agent in an isolated environment and enforces operator-set limits on access to files, networks, tools and credentials.

Nvidia says its Sentry software can use BlueField hardware to observe agent activity and enforce policies outside the agent's reach. That gives operators a separate control point when an agent strays from its assigned task. The platform is optimized for Nvidia Vera CPU and BlueField systems but is also compatible with other hardware; the BlueField monitoring layer is optional.
