Microsoft says Windows quality updates will begin enabling memory integrity and virtualization-based security on eligible Windows 11 devices next month, unless users previously disabled the feature. Memory integrity permits only trusted kernel-mode code and drivers, aiming to block malicious code at the kernel level. Microsoft says the protection can reduce gaming performance on some hardware, with older processors more likely to show frame-rate effects in certain games.
